10 Questions with SEO Expert, Nicole Bogard

1) What motivates you and what doesn’t?

Self-improvement is what motivates me. It has driven me to run the extra mile, continue my education, learn Spanish, and travel this beautiful world. Beyond double scoop chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream in a chocolate covered waffle cone there isn’t anything that doesn’t motivate me.

2) Tell me in no more than 5 words what you think Lion + Panda does?

Inspire + Motivate + Challenge + Create Change = Lion + Panda

3) What did you play with as a child?

My imagination. My brother, sister, and I loved to invent our own games that mirrored some of our favorite video games. We would play our own version of Mario Bros. In this version we would have to jump on furniture all around the house without touching the floor.

4) What’s your superpower, or what’s your spirit animal?

My spirit animal is a lion – hear me roar! When faced with challenges I don’t give up easily and will fight relentlessly to overcome them.

5) What advice would you give to anyone trying to make it in the ad world?

People will challenge you and your ideas; remember that just because they do, it doesn’t mean your ideas aren’t valid or worth having. If it is something you feel strongly in, be confident, be persistent, and fight for yourself.

6) What’s the story about your family or your cat?

Well, my cat is actually a dog. She has a beautiful golden coat, so I named her Miel, which is Spanish for honey…the thing is, everyone pronounces it Meow…so I’ve succeeded in thoroughly confusing my dog into thinking she’s a cat.

7) What’s the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in high school and/or college?

The first basketball game I ever cheered for in High School was so nerve-racking. I was the flyer for my squad, and lets just say things did not go according to plan…I got up on my teammates shoulders, and as I was doing the splits between the two, I lost my balance, rolled forward and faceplanted on the ground…and this was in front of the entire student section!! But that wasn’t the worst part, if you can believe. After the game was over, and we were headed out of the gym the guy I had the BIGGEST crush on came up to me and told me next time I should tuck my tighty-whities in before the next time I decided to flash everyone…FML

8) What was the last gift you gave someone?

I created an emergency tool-kit for a friend who left the corporate world to go back to school so she can one day pursue her dream of working with endangered wildlife. The kit came with a warning label that advised only to be broken open in case of serious study emergencies. Contents of the kit included sugary treats, caffeinated beverages, hilarious animal memes, pet toys, and countless words of encouragement. My hope is when a rough day comes along that she will open the kit and remember how many people believe in her and that she will make a difference.

9) What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

I have the best dating luck…not. Recently, I found myself stuck on a date with a very free-spirited guy I met from the Internet. This man used to live in a shack, believed he would live to be 140 years old, and would occasionally keep a cheeseburger in his hard hat for a snack. Lesson learned, no more internet dating for me.

10) You’re a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why?

This ultimately depends on what size of crayon box to which we are adding a new color. The 8? The 16? 24, 64, 96, 108? I would love to reinstate the color cranberry due to its rich, vibrant, and flavorful characteristics.
